A four-day journey into Kriya, meditation and inner practice

There is a difference between practising a technique and entering into a living practice.

This four-day immersion with Ritika offers an opportunity to step away from the momentum of everyday life and establish a deeper relationship with meditation, breath and the inner movement of energy.

Over four days, participants will be introduced to foundational Kriya and meditation practices within a carefully held retreat environment.

The emphasis is not on accumulating techniques, but on learning how to enter practice with steadiness, awareness and understanding.

The practice of Kriya

Kriya is a yogic approach that works consciously with breath, attention and subtle energy.

Through consistent practice, we begin to move beyond the surface activity of the mind and develop a more intimate relationship with our inner state.

The practices may support greater:

  • Awareness

  • Concentration

  • Energetic Balance

  • Inner Stillness

  • Sensitivity to Breath and Prana

  • Consistency in Meditation

  • Connection to One’s Own Spiritual Practice

The retreat is designed to give participants both an experiential understanding of Kriya and a framework for continuing the practice beyond the four days.

What we will explore

Across the immersion, the programme may include:

  • Foundations of Kriya Yoga

  • Understanding prana and the subtle body

  • Preparatory movement and asana

  • The role of discipline and consistency in sadhana

  • Guided periods of silence and contemplation

The programme will unfold progressively across the four days, allowing participants to build familiarity with the practices rather than simply experiencing them once.

  • Breath awareness and pranayama

  • Meditation practices

  • Developing concentration and inner awareness

  • Understanding the relationship between breath, energy and mind

  • Establishing a sustainable home practice

The heart of the immersion

Initiation

An important element of this immersion is the process of initiation.

Within traditional yogic systems, initiation marks the beginning of a deeper relationship with a practice.

It is not simply the learning of a technique.

It represents a conscious commitment to enter the practice with greater sincerity, consistency and awareness.

Ritika will guide participants through the preparation, understanding and practices connected with this process during the retreat.

Retreat as practice

The environment of retreat is an essential part of this immersion.

Stepping away from ordinary routines creates space to notice what is often hidden beneath constant activity.

The retreat will include periods of practice, teaching, reflection and integration so that the experience is not simply intensive, but deeply assimilated.

Participants will be encouraged to approach these four days as a period of sadhana — a conscious turning inward.

Who this is for

This immersion is suitable for those who:

  • wish to establish a meditation practice

  • want to deepen an existing practice

  • are interested in Kriya Yoga and pranayama

  • feel called toward a more disciplined spiritual practice

  • have explored yoga primarily through asana and want to move deeper

  • wish to understand the relationship between breath, energy and meditation

  • Previous experience with Kriya is not required unless otherwise advised.

What you may take away

By the end of the retreat, participants will have:

  • a clearer understanding of Kriya and meditation

  • direct experience of foundational practices

  • a structured personal practice to continue at home

  • greater awareness of the breath and subtle body

  • practical tools for cultivating steadiness and presence

  • an understanding of how to approach sadhana consistently

The deeper value of the retreat, however, lies in what continues after the four days.

The invitation is to establish a practice that can become part of daily life.
